Associate Professor Chelvin Sng is a Senior Consultant at the National University Hospitaland Alexandra Hospital. She graduated from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University with triple First Class Honours and Distinctions. As recipient of the Academic Medicine and Development Award, she completed her glaucoma fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital.

Associate Professor Sng is the first Asian surgeon to implant several minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) devices (including the iStent Inject, the XEN Gel Implant, the CyPass Micro-Stent and the InnFocus / PreserFlo Microshunt) and is regarded as a pioneer of MIGS in Asia.

She is actively involved in research on glaucoma surgery and imaging and is currently conducting a prospective study investigating the outcomes of MIGS in Asian patients, which also funds the cost of one MIGS device for each study patient. She is the co-inventor of a novel glaucoma drainage device (Paul® Glaucoma Implant), which has received CE mark clearance by the European Commission (EC) and is currently undergoing international clinical trials.
