Prof. Ni Dhubhghaill is the Head of Department and Chair of the Ophthalmology department at the University Hospital Brussels. She trained and obtained her PhD in Trinity College Dublin and won the Duke Elder prize from the Royal College of Ophthalmology in the UK. She pursued postgraduate surgical training in Antwerp Belgium under Dr. Tassignon and in Rotterdam in the Netherlands under Dr. Melles. She is now on the council of management for the ESCRS and is the chair of the Corneal committee of the ESCRS. Her main research focuses are translational anterior segment surgery with new ATMP therapeutics and artificial corneal options as wells and optics and has collaborated in over 140 research articles, books and book chapters.
