Prof. Tetsuro Oshika is Chairman and Professor of Ophthalmology, University of Tsukuba, Japan. He is Vice President of Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO), Vice President of the Academy of Asia-Pacific Professors of Ophthalmology (AAPPO), member of the Global Advisors Committee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), and Immediate Past President of the Japanese Ophthalmological Society. He is the recipient of the Achievement Award of AAO (2006); the Achievement Award (2015) and Jose Rizal Medal (2016) of APAO; and is Silver Fellow of the Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology (ARVO, 2015). 

Prof. Oshika is an internationally recognized expert in cataract and anterior segment surgery. He is also a globally renowned clinician-scientist whose research interests span a wide range, including ocular optics, cataract surgery, corneal disease, and ocular imaging. He has authored or co-authored over 600 peer-reviewed publications and over 100 textbook chapters, and has delivered over 400 invited lectures.
